The Classification of Hair

http://www.tedhair.com/
Hair is one kind of light industry, and hair industry is divided into hair weft, toupee, wig, synthetic, etc.
1. by ingredient: human hair, synthetic hair, mixed hair.
2. By material: Synthetic hair and human hair. Synthetic hair is made by synthetic, looks not real, will make people feel itchy after wearing, might stimulate the scale easily. But it is cheap, and keep the style well. Human hair is made by human hair, looks real, not easy to tangle, can be curled, ironed and dyed, easy to change the style, but it is expensive, and the style can’t be kept well.
3. By size: hair weft and wig. Wigs can be wore directly. Hair weft can be customized by different demand, and made into different size and different styles, looks real, breathable.
4. By making ways: machine made and hand tied. Machine made hair is made by machine and made in bulk, price is cheaper. Hand tied hair is handmade, price is higher.
5. By purpose: cosplay wigs, party wigs, etc.
6. By length: long hair and short hair.

Easy, beautiful holiday hair: The twist

You know what no one told me when I had girls? With all their warnings and knowing looks and opinions on whether girls or boys were harder to raise…no one warned me about doing their hair.
I should have known this anyway. After all, I am a girl. But although I can knit really well and sew a tiny bit and I’ve made LEGO minifig and Minecraft Halloween costumes out of nothing but a box…I can’t do hair. Not mine, not anyone else’s. I make a mean ponytail and that’s about it.
So I’ll be sharing a few simple holiday hairstyles over the next week or so. Little girl hairdos so easy, even I can do them.
This twist doesn’t take long at all, but it looks really good when you’re finished. Good enough that I demanded a do-over of my brother’s wedding, so I could redo the flower girls’ hair. thought I was being totally reasonable.
A simple, beautiful holiday hairstyle -- the twist.
When you do this style, don’t skip the curling at the end. Curling little girls’ hair is that one extra step that just makes it look finished and special and festive.
Step 1: Starting with well-brushed hair that’s free of tangles (I know…that might be the most challenging part!), part in the middle. Beginning at one side, near the temple, start to twist hair toward the back of the head, adding in more hair as you go.

Step 2: When you reach the back of the head, where the part is, secure that half of the hair with bobby pins, and repeat the process on the other side.

Step 3: Hold both sides in place with bobby pins. Hairspray to hold, and add more hairspray to the ends of hair before curling.
Step 4: Curl. To make ringlets, hold the curling iron straight up and down and curl sideways. When hair is curled, slide the curling iron straight down and out the bottom, leaving ringlets. You can leave the ringlets untouched, or fluff with your fingers to loosen a little. Add more hairspray to hold.

Step 5: When the hair is arranged the way you like it, add a festive holiday hair clip (these are great because they also hide bobby pins, or small mistakes you may have made) and you’re done!

A few tips on working with squirmy little girls:
-get all your supplies together ahead of time. Make sure the curling iron is already heated. You don’t want to stop halfway through, order her not to move, and go hunting for bobby pins or a hairbrush.
-have something for your daughter to do while you’re doing her hair (that’s my girl, playing “Sorry!” above with Grandma). If she’s distracted, she’s less likely to move around, and less likely to notice if you accidentally tug her hair when you’re brushing it. Let her play games on your phone for a few minutes, or read, or draw.
-practice beforehand. If you have an event where you know you want to try a new hairstyle, don’t wait until 20 minutes before you leave to try it for the first time. Do a run-through the day before. Besides, I’m pretty sure kids sense when we’re racing to leave on-time — mine always know exactly when to throw a fit and refuse to put on their shoes and the last thing I want is to do their hair then, too.

THE HAIR WE WEAR STORY BY TRACY

This month we asked our customer Tracy to share her story with us.
Tracy Rivera December 2015 -1
Tell us a little about yourself:
I was born in New York City, but I grew up in Mississippi. I moved to Colorado with my mom, and that is where I met my husband who was in the Air Force.   I’m a mother of 5—4 daughters and a son who died when he was 28 hours old. I’m married to my very best friend who is amazing! He is so supportive, and I know he is truly crazy about me because that is how he makes me feel.  We owned a book store for 5 years--until a couple of years ago. I’ve home schooled all of our daughters since 1994. I had my last two babies at home with a midwife. In the past 18 months, I started weight training again after some years of not, and lost 89 pounds!
How long have you been wearing Jon Renau wigs for?
I’ve been wearing Jon Renau hair for about a year now.
What do you love about our brand?
I love how natural and realistic Jon Renau hair looks.  I love that it is so easily customizable. That is really important to me because I make each piece fit me. I love how well it holds up.  I have traveled multiple times with my JR pieces!
What advice would you give to a new wig wearer?
Like so many women I’ve met lately, I have a couple of medical conditions that contributed to hair thinning.  After losing weight, the hair loss just accelerated, and I was devastated! I feel that it is much less acceptable for women to lose hair than it is for men.  I never realized just how much self-confidence was tied to my hair until I started losing it. I was terrified to wear a wig at first.  I just knew that the first time I went out in one, people were going to point and snicker. Surprise!  They didn’t.  Not only did they not, but I got so many compliments on how pretty my hair looked.  People don’t notice things as much as we think they do. My hair was shoulder length, but I started wearing longer hair. People actually asked me if I had gotten my hair cut!
I mostly stuck with reddish colors until someone sent me a blonde wig to try.  I loved the blonde too, so now I switch up the two colors depending on my mood.  I was very much not open about wig-wearing for quite a while, but then I decided, 1.) If I’m going to have to wear helper hair, then I’m going to have fun with it by changing colors and styles, 2.) maybe I can help other women become confident with wearing hair if they see how much fun I have with it. I don’t shout it from the rooftops, but those who see me on a regular basis now know.  Most of the guys are still clueless.  One friend recently told me he just thought I did stuff to my hair a lot and thought it was cool. J My girlfriends are all very supportive and love to see what I am going to be wearing. I would love to try Zara and Courtney one day. Wearing hair has literally taken 15 years off the way I look, and combined with the weight loss, I feel pretty again!

FASHION WEEK HAIR SHOW

We love getting some inspo from Fashion Week Hair for the up and coming hair trends of 2015/16 and after NYFW, LFW, MFW and PFW we are definitely big fans of some of the hair trends we have seen so far. So, read on to see what hair trends are on the horizon, gals...
So it seems as though side bangs are making a comeback, and we're pretty pleased about this one! We love side bangs as they are so versatile, you can have it all over to one side (as it should be) or you can mix it up a little and opt for a full bang, or you can create short bangs either side and give yourself a centre parting. The choices are endless! If you are a little scared to cut a bang into your own hair, don't worry - we've got you covered. Our BG Clip In Fringe is literally amazing! It comes ready and waiting to be styled so you can make you mark and create the bang of your dreams. What you waiting for!?

Next up, Rich Gal Hair is set to be a big trend and this was a major part of Fashion Week Hair. Rich Gal Hair is super effortless and laid back, although you do need to ensure your tresses are super shiny and healthy to get the desired look. This hair trend works perfectly on pretty much all hair lengths, too. You can literally get up out of bed, ruffle your hair a little and you're good to go. Just be sure to give your hair a good conditioning treatment beforehand.
Retro hair was all over Fashion Week hair and we loved the pinned up victory rolls which made an appearance at MFW. We love this hairstyle paired with modern clothing, we think this gives off an amazing, unique vibe and we can't get enough of it. Plus, once you get the hang of it, this hairstyle is super simple to create too!
Fashion Week Hair also consisted of deep side partings. We're talking refined partings and sleek, effortless hair. We love, love, love this hairstyle and what's even better? It's so easy to create! All you need to do is create a parting that sits in line with the arch of your eyebrow, straighten the rest of your hair and voila! Fashion Week hair is yours.
Last but not least, hair accessories are definitely making a comeback. We loved the simple hair accessories we saw at the Chanel fashion show. From flower crowns to cute Minnie Mouse inspired ears - in the form of flower hair accesories of course, Chanel managed to bring out the best in hair accesories and we love how quickly they can change the look and vibe of your hairstyle.

I got new hair extensions in Singapore!

Yes, I got long wavy hair extensions installed when I was in Singapore. Getting exte’s is a common thing for gyaru’s, but I’m  not really “gal”. The one time I had it done previously was in Australia, and for a LOT more. So, extes in Singapore.  I think it’s a rite of passage or something, like getting your hair braided in Bali (but hopefully more tasteful looking).
I researched and found that the main names coming up were Angel Xin, Vain, Milly’s, and H & C Carnival. In the end, I just trotted off to the Far East Plaza near Orchard Road, and took my chances.  On the 3rd floor there are various beauty salons, and I kept wandering past a few of them, eventually heading in to Vain Hair & Beauty. The main shop is seen below:
…and the one I went into was just opposite, at shop 140

200 extensions would be $100, or 400 for $200. I ended up getting 400 (or so they told me). Although I still have a lot of blue hair, my roots and a good 6-8 inches are my natural dark brown, and so they matched the extes more or less to that. (I think they could’ve gone a little darker actually, but it’s ok). Here are the halfway and completed shots.

The Real Story Behind Where Your Hair Extensions Come From

If you wear hair extensions, chances are you’re pretty picky about what type of hair you wear. You know if you prefer Remy or non-Remy hair, Indian or Brazilian, synthetic or human. You may also believe you can simply look at hair extension packaging to find out its origins. But the truth is, it’s pretty difficult to tell where your hair extensions come from, and there are plenty of manufacturers who are deliberately misleading about where they source their hair from.
Riqua Hailes, owner of Just Extensions hair extension bar in Los Angeles and The Weave Express in Washington, D.C., knows this firsthand. After noticing inconsistencies in the hair extensions she received from vendors, Hailes decided to dig deeper. She embarked on a journey through China, Cambodia, Malaysia and India and will continue her travels to Brazil and Russia later this year to uncover the long, storied journey hair extensions take before they reach a salon or retail store. Here is her account.

Separating Fact From Fiction In China
"I started my journey in March 2014. My first stop was China, the largest exporter of human hair in the world. China can reproduce almost anything — and hair is no exception. Chinese hair is often considered cheap in the extensions industry because it isn’t donated hair, so in order to be on the same playing field as other exporters, they will market it as Brazilian or Malaysian hair, which can go for twice the money.
"China imports fallen hair, also referred to as non-Remy hair, from India. Fallen hair is dead hair that naturally sheds and is collected from hair salons and hairbrushes. Because the hair’s quality has been jeopardized and matting is likely to occur, non-Remy hair is less desirable in the extensions industry. But China collects this hair, cleans it and mislabels it as being from a higher-quality hair extension source like Brazil, Russia or India.
"If you’re shopping for extensions, and they say they’re shipped from China, it’s probably Chinese hair masquerading as something else. One hair distributor taught me to pay attention to the smell: Fallen hair has a smell of acid and silicone that’s easily recognizable."
